Sri Ramachandra Medical College was established by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust in the year 1985.
It is a private not-for-profit self-financing institution dedicated to serve the society as a centre of excellence with emphasis on medical education, research and health care.
Government of India conferred Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute as ‘Deemed University’ in September, 1994.

Ramachandra Medical Institute is located in Porur on Chennai- Bangalore Highway and 20 minutes drive from Chennai airport. The university is spread out over 150 acres in a lush green campus. The campus is a mini town with colleges, the medical centre, staff and student housing, conference facilities, play grounds, multi cuisine restaurants, ATMs, gift shops, travel service, railway reservation counter and a post office.

How to apply?

To enroll, firstly the candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria.
Next, they need to clear the entrance exam
Thirdly, they will have to appear for the counseling or selection process.

Sri Ramachandra Medical College Research Institute Admission Criteria:

UG-MBBS:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a recognized board/ council / university with English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology as subjects.
Candidates should have qualified PUC II/ HSC or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE).
Candidates should have completed or, be on their 17 years of age in the year of admission.

PG-MD/ MS:

One must have completed MD/ MS from a recognized university.
They should have cleared entrance exam.

Higher Specialty Courses- DM/ M.Ch:

Candidates who wants to enroll in higher Specialty Courses y courses need to qualify MD/ MS.

M. Sc:

To enroll in Masters in Basic Medical Science courses, candidates should complete MBBS/ BDS/B.P.T./ B.Sc./ BUMS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BSMS from any recognized university of India.

Ph.D:

Candidates should qualify DM/ M.Ch/ MD/ MS/ PG Diploma in the Faculty of Medicine.

Publication Support Grant is for all Ph.D. scholars, PG and UG students, whose manuscripts are accepted in indexed journals with Impact. The grant to be paid or reimbursed would include only the printing charges.

There are separate hostel facilities for both men and women.
General facilities include: Study hall, visitor/ guest hall/ area, TV hall, 24 X 7 water and electricity supply.
Each hostel has a warden who maintains the rules and regulation in the hostel.
Mess caters a variety of foods, preparing hygienic and balanced multi cuisines vegetarian or non vegetarian meals.
