Acharya College of Engineering Admission has been done as per the prevailing norms and regulations of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). There is a separate set of rules for every kind of course. The admission office strictly follows the rules and works for a smooth and hassle-free admission procedure.
Eligibility criteria for the undergraduate program are given below:
- Pass in 10+2 / Higher Secondary (HS) / Pre University (PUC) / 'A' Level (with 12 years of schooling) or its equivalent with English as one of the languages. Shall have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following : Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Electronics. AIT admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.
Selection Process
- Eligibility: Candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Electronics/Technical Vocational subjects. A minimum aggregate percentage as per AICTE norms is required.
- Entrance Exams: Selection is primarily based on performance in:
- CET (Common Entrance Test) – for Karnataka students.
- COMEDK – for non-Karnataka students.
- Other recognized national/state-level entrance exams may also be considered.
- Counseling and Allotment: Seats are allotted through centralized counseling based on rank and availability. Direct admissions may be considered under the management quota as per guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate Programs:
For MCA
- Pass in BCA/ BSC – science/bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering degree with a minimum of 50% in aggregate, including languages, if any. OR
- Pass in a Bachelor's Degree with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics / Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Programming/Computer Applications/ Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the optional or electives. OR
- Pass in B. A graduation with 50% marks in aggregate is also eligible, provided they have studied Mathematics as one of the major subjects in 10+2 level & secured 50% marks in that. OR
- Also, students should have compulsorily attended any one of the entrance exams - MAT / KMAT / PGCET / CMAT Scores.
For MBA
- Pass in 3-year bachelor's degrees in any discipline from any recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects, including languages, if any. Also, Students should have attended any one of the entrance exams - MAT / KMAT / PGCET / CMAT.
Selection Process
- Eligibility: Applicants must hold a relevant bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech/BCA/B.Sc for MCA, or equivalent) with a minimum required percentage, as per AICTE or university norms.
- Entrance Exams: Admission is based on performance in:
- PGCET (Post Graduate Common Entrance Test) – for Karnataka students.
- KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) – applicable for MBA and MCA
- GATE – for M.Tech courses.
- Other equivalent qualifying exams as approved by the university.
- Admission Process: Based on entrance exam scores, eligible candidates undergo counseling and seat allotment. Management quota seats may also be offered based on merit and availability.
