Each year the courses at the Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences commences in the first week of August every year. BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): The BDS course is offered from this college. The course duration is of five years. The first four years is solely dedicated to the academics. The last one year is specified for the rotating internship program where the students get hands-on practical in the field of medicine and surgery. Each subject under this course comprises of 3 internal assessment examinations. The average of these marks is sent to the university at the end for the academic year.

MDS (Master of Dental Surgery): The college also offers a course in Master of Dental Surgery under PG program surgery. The candidates who wish to do PG needs to have an undergraduate degree in dental (BDS) from a university with the recognition of Medical Council of India. The students are also completed with their one year internship program. The MDS course is for the duration of 3 years and it is a career oriented program. There are several specializations available under the MDS curriculum. Some of the other popular specializations in MDS are Periodontics, Orthodontics, Public health dentistry Oral medicine & Radiology and many others.
