BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology & Science Admission Test) is an entrance exam conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani for admission to its integrated First Degree (FD) programmes. There will be two sessions for the test. It is a computer-based exam held annually that tests the candidate’s knowledge in physics, chemistry, mathematics/ biology, English proficiency and logical reasoning.

BITSAT is a computer-based test which lasts 3 hours. The scores of the BITSAT test are considered along with other factors as past academic record and performance in the personal interview, for admission to the B.E (Bachelor of Engineering) and B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) programs offered by BITS Pilani in its campuses located in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. BITSAT Online Exam

To apply for the BITSAT exam, follow these steps:

  • Visit the official BITSAT website of BITS Pilani www.bitsadmission.com and click on the "BITSAT" tab.
  • Click on the "Apply for BITSAT" link and register yourself by providing your name, email ID, and mobile number. Candidates will receive a unique application number and password through email and SMS.
  • Login using the application number and password, and fill in the required personal and academic details, such as educational qualifications, contact information, etc.
  • Upload scanned copies of passport-sized photographs, signature, and 10th and 12th class mark sheets. The size of the scanned files should be within the specified limit.
  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 3150/- (for male candidates) and Rs. 2650/- (for female candidates) through online mode (credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI) or offline mode (challan).
  • Choose three preferred test centres from the list of available centres. The actual centre will be allotted based on availability.
  • After filling in all the details, check the form for errors and submit it.
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

    BITSAT Exam Preparation

    Here are some tips to prepare for the BITSAT exam:

    • Familiarize yourself with the syllabus and exam pattern of BITSAT to understand the types of questions and topics that will be covered.
    • Start by studying NCERT textbooks for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as they form the core of the BITSAT syllabus.
    • Solve previous year’s papers and sample papers to get an idea of the level of difficulty and type of questions.

    BITSAT Exam Preparation

    The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) conducts the BITSAT exam as part of the admissions process for its integrated First Degree (FD) programmes at its campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. The computer-based exam consists of multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English proficiency, and Logical Reasoning. The exam lasts for three hours and is usually given in the month of May. The exam pattern is known for its level of difficulty and was developed to test a candidate's knowledge, speed, and accuracy.     BITSAT Ranking

    Admission to BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad is based on BITSAT scores. The candidates are ranked based on their results in the entrance exam, and the admission procedure is carried out in accordance with the candidate's rank, preference, and availability of seats in different courses.

    BITSAT is a highly competitive exam and the admission process is based on the score obtained by the candidates. They have better chances of admission to the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad with higher score.

    BITSAT Counselling

    When the test is over, the computer will provide the candidate with their results, including their score and the total number of correct and incorrect answers. Only after entering the test results in the test window can the candidate log out of the exam. Before logging out of the test window, the student must complete this action to verify that they have reviewed their scores. For counselling, the BITSAT results will be used to determine the order in which eligible candidates will be placed on the merit list. Eligible candidates are those who have taken the BITSAT-2024 and have applied for admission in the required format with their 12th-grade marks, preferences, and the necessary fees.

    The fee for female candidates who wish to appear in for one exam will have to pay Rs. 2900 and for female candidates it is Rs 3400. male candidates who wish to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. Rs. 4400 for female candidates, and for male candidates it is Rs. 5400.
    Each correct answer is awarded three marks, while one mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. Unattempted questions do not carry any marks.
    Yes, BITS Pilani provides the facility of mock tests for candidates where candidates can download the exam and familiarize themselves with the exam pattern and types of questions asked in the exam.
    BITSAT counselling process is conducted online, and candidates for participating in the counselling process should register themselves on the official website of BITS Pilani.
    The number of seats available in each college and course, the number of applicants appearing for the exam, the difficulty level, and the average score obtained by the candidates are considered for determining the BITSAT cut-off.
