Chaudhary Charan Singh University (formerly known as Meerut University) is a public university that was founded in 1965 to address the higher education needs of western Uttar Pradesh. The university is approved by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A ++’ grade by the NAAC. The University celebrated its silver jubilee in 1991.
