DHWU University

Diamond Harbour Women's University was established in 2013. On January 28, 2013, it was constituted under the West Bengal Act XXXVII of 2012. It is the first university in this region and was established in response to a long-standing demand from female students in this area and elsewhere for more opportunities to achieve self-hood. The University was recognized in 2016 by Section 2(f) of the 1956 University Grants Commission (UGC) Act.

As a women’s university, DHWU is committed to empowering women through education.
