GD Goenka Aptitude Test for Admission (GATA) is an entrance examination for admission to several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes conducted by GD Goenka University. It is a computer-based test that evaluates a candidate's aptitude, critical thinking, and logical reasoning skills.

GATA has three sections- Analytical & Logical Reasoning, English usage, and Quantitative Aptitude. The English Language section assesses a candidate's language skills and fluency, whilst the Logical Reasoning section assesses their ability to reason rationally and analytically. The Quantitative Aptitude segment examines a candidate's maths skills, while the General Awareness section assesses their awareness of current events and general knowledge. GATA is 3 hours and consists of 75 multiple-choice questions.

GATA Application Form

To apply for GATA, candidates should follow the following steps:

  • Visit the GD Goenka University official website.
  • Candidates should register themselves on the website by filling in the details
  • After registering, candidates should fill out the application form.
  • They must choose the programme for which they want to apply, and enter personal information, address, contact information, and so forth.
  • For online submission, upload scanned copies of the required documents such as passport-size photographs, signatures, and mark sheets.
  • Pay the application fee which is 1102/- using the available payment options
  • Once the application form is submitted, the candidate will receive a confirmation email with their application number and password.

GATA Syllabus

GATA tests candidates' verbal, numerical, verbal reasoning, and general awareness skills as well as their cognitive ability. The GATA syllabus often covers a wide range of subjects, including maths, English language skills, critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and current events. PCM and Non-PCM subjects have a different GD Goenka Aptitude Test for Admission syllabus. Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics are all covered in PCM courses. It is similar to the 10 + 2 syllabus. The non-PCM subjects include quantitative aptitude, analytical reasoning, and English usage.
