GMAT 2024, also known as the Graduate Management Admission Test, is conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). It is a national-level exam that allows eligible candidates to take admission to MBA programs offered at numerous colleges/universities in India and abroad like Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Stanford, Wharton, and other top league universities. GMAT provides admission opportunities for over 7000 programs at over 2300 business schools in over 110 countries. The exam will be conducted via center-based or online remote-monitored modes. The scores of the GMAT 2024 will remain valid for 5 years.

GMAT Application Form

The GMAT 2024 is conducted several times per year. The GMAT exam has no specific date. Candidates can select their own exam dates while filling out the application form. Registration is open throughout the year. Candidates can select their exam date and mode according to their convenience. The candidate can register for the GMAT between 6 months and 7 days a week before the scheduled date.

GMAT Fees 2024

The GMAT costs $275, which translates to about INR 22,800. Applicants will also be charged extra if they wish to change the testing location or reschedule the exam. Candidates who fail to appear for the test will be charged the full GMAT exam fee.

GMAT Cancellation Fee If you cancel the exam between 1 and 14 days before the test date, you will be charged $200 and will receive a $50 refund. If you cancel the exam between 15 and 60 days before the appointment, you will be charged $175 and will receive a refund of $75. If you cancel the test more than 60 days before the appointment, you will be charged $150 and will receive a refund of $100. Furthermore, the test appointment cannot be changed or canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled test time.
GMAT Rescheduling Fee You must pay US$150 if you reschedule the exam between 1 and 14 days before the test date. In addition, if you reschedule the exam 15 to 60 days before the appointment, you must pay US$100. You must pay US$50 if you reschedule the exam more than 60 days before the test date.

GMAT Syllabus

To prepare for the GMAT exam, candidates should first check the GMAT syllabus for 2024. The GMAT syllabus for 2024 is divided into four sections: Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical writing assessment. The GMAT exam has a total score of 800 points.

GMAT Exam Preparation

1.Verbal section: As discussed in the GMAT exam syllabus 2024 - Verbal Reasoning, the verbal section evaluates your ability to read and comprehend written material, evaluate arguments, and correct written material so that it meets standard written English. This section contains approximately 41 questions ranging from reading comprehension to critical reasoning to sentence correction.

3. Analytical writing assessment: Analytical writing tests your ability to think critically and communicate your ideas. You will be required to analyze and express your thoughts on a given argument in this section.

  • Create a template for your essay
  • Support your arguments with examples

Integrated Reasoning: The integrated reasoning section evaluates your ability to evaluate information presented in a variety of formats from a variety of sources. It assesses your ability to make decisions, organize and combine information, and solve problems.

GMAT Exam Pattern

Candidates must understand the exam structure or pattern along with the GMAT syllabus 2024 in detail. The GMAT exam lasts three hours and thirty minutes, with two optional eight-minute breaks in between. As a result, the total time required to complete the exam will be slightly more than 3 hours.

GMAT Counselling

Generally, after completing the exam, you will be able to view your unofficial GMAT score.GMAT counseling 2024 will be held for candidates who qualified for the exam with scores higher than the cut-off. The GMAT 2024 entrance exam cut-off varies from institute to institute. As a result, it is based on the candidates' scorecards. They should keep in touch with the desired university or institute. If a candidate meets the cut-off for a particular institute/college, they will be invited to attend counseling. All candidates must check the deadlines for the universities and colleges of their choice.

The candidates can register for the GMAT exam by creating an account on the GMAT official website.
The total time duration for the GMAT exam is 3 hours 7 minutes.
As a next step, the candidates can submit their GMAT scores to their preferred business schools to proceed with the admission process which may include interviews, essay writing, and other requirements set by the college.
The candidates can retake the exam 5 times in a roll of 12 months period and 8 times overall.
If the candidates retake the exam multiple times the highest scores are secured and the scores relevant to their ranking will be considered by top business schools for admission.
