GRE Exam

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is often required for graduate school admission in the United States and some other countries. The test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing skills, and is designed to help graduate schools and business schools assess the potential of applicants for advanced study. The test is offered in two formats: a computer-based version and a paper-based version. The test takes about three hours and 45 minutes to complete, and scores are valid for five years.

The computer-based GRE test takes about three hours and 45 minutes to complete. It includes six sections, of which two are Verbal Reasoning, two are Quantitative Reasoning, and one is Analytical Writing. The sixth section is either Verbal or Quantitative Reasoning and is an experimental section which is not included in the final score.   • The first step in applying for the GRE is to create a GRE test-taker profile. Candidates will need to provide their personal information, such as their name, address, and contact details.

  • They will have to select a GRE Test they want to take from the options like the GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test including the GRE Chemistry Test, GRE Mathematics Test, GRE Physics Test, and GRE Psychology Test.
  • In the next step, candidates will have to choose the 'GRE at Home' Edition of the test or opt to select the GRE at a Test centre.
  • If they choose GRE from the test centre, they will be redirected to select their GRE Test Date, Test Centre and the time slot that would be available. The exam can be given from different test centres in different states of India, so they will need to select a test centre that is convenient for them. They should also check the test centre’s schedule and availability before registering.
  • After selecting a test centre and test date, candidates will need to pay the test fee. The fee for the GRE varies depending on the candidate’s location and the test centre they choose. They can pay the fee online using a credit or debit card.

GRE Syllabus

Analytical Writing, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning are the three sections of the GRE.

Verbal Reasoning

GRE Exam Pattern

GRE, or the Graduate Record Examination, is computer-based and consists of three sections: Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. GRE Ranking

The GRE cut-off score varies significantly based on the programme and school you are applying to. While some institutions may have a specified minimum GRE score requirement others use a more holistic approach to evaluate applicants. Although there are few exceptions, the majority of graduate programmes in the United States and many programmes in other countries require the GRE for admission. GRE Counselling

GRE results will be available in the candidate’s ETS account 10–15 days after their test date. To check scores, candidates will need to create an account on the ETS (Educational Testing Service) website, which conducts the GRE exam.
Throughout the counselling process, a counsellor will provide guidance, and support and answer any questions that candidates may have. They will also help candidates to develop a plan of action that will help them to achieve their goals and increase their chances of being accepted into the graduate programs of their choice.

GRE Exam Fee (General Test) is $213 and GRE Exam Fee (Subject Test) is $150.
According to ETS, the conducting body of the GRE, there is no prerequisite for students. However, for Indian students, candidates should complete a bachelor's degree or be in the final year of their undergraduate studies.
You will receive your GRE result within 10-15 days of after the exam.
