Application Process
How to Apply
The process of applying for the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) involves several steps, including creating an account, registering for the test, selecting a test centre and date, and paying the test fee. Here's a detailed explanation:
- The first step in applying for the GRE is to create an account. Candidates will need to provide their details, such as their name, address, and contact details.
- Once they have created their account, they can register for the test. During the registration process, they will need to select a test centre and test date that is convenient for them. It is important to register early as test dates and locations can fill up quickly.
- They will have to select a GRE Test they want to take from the options like the GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test including the GRE Chemistry Test, GRE Mathematics Test, GRE Physics Test, and GRE Psychology Test.
- In the next step, candidates will have to choose the 'GRE at Home' Edition of the test or they can also opt to select the GRE at a Test centre.
- If they choose GRE from the test centre, they will be redirected to select the available GRE Test Date, Test Centre and time slot. GRE is offered at different test centres in different states of India, so they will need to select a test centre that is convenient for them. They should also check the test centre’s schedule and availability before registering.
- After selecting a test centre and test date, candidates will need to pay the test fee. The fee for the GRE varies depending on the candidate’s location and the test centre they choose. They will have to pay the online fee using a credit or debit card.
- Once they have completed the registration process, they will receive a confirmation email with the details of their test centre, date, and time. It is important to check this email carefully and ensure that all the details are correct.
- Candidates can print their Admission Ticket from the official website of GRE and ensure to carry the printout on the test day.
Candidates should note that they will need to bring a valid government-issued ID to the test centre on the day of the test.
