Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is a statutory institution of higher learning founded by the Gujarati government as per the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003. The University is a part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), International Association of Law Schools (IALS), United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), Asian Law Institute (ASLI), and Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. GNLU is dedicated to being a pioneer in environmental sustainability research, education, and outreach.
Since its commencement, the university has held regular internal moot court competitions, following which deserving students are sent abroad to compete in moot court jamborees. The University is committed to achieving academic and professional excellence in the legal studies of India.
The student fraternity has received recognition for its achievements in a range of national and international moot court competitions, paper presentations, and cultural events. Like the other National Law Schools of the nation, the university strives for interdisciplinary and all-around academic achievement.
For the Honours Degree Program, GNLU provides the B.A.LL.B. (Hons), B.Com. LL.B. (Hons), B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons), B.B.A.LL.B. (Hons), and B.S.W.LL.B. (Hons) with a wide range of Specializations. In its LL.M. program, GNLU offers four specializations: corporate and business law; constitutional and administrative law; criminal and security law; and intellectual property law.
The admissions to GNLU are strictly based on the entrance cut-offs for both UG and PG Programs.

Admission to five-year integrated law programs at GNLU Gandhinagar is based on CLAT UG. Candidates interested in the GNLU Gandhinagar L.L.M program must take the CLAT PG exam. Admission to the M.B.A. Financial Management and Business Law program at Gujarat National Law University is based on CAT/MAT/CMAT scores, followed by a legal aptitude test, group discussion, and personal interview.
