MAT-2024 Exam Syllabus

MAT-2024 Syllabus released by All India Management Association [AIMA] consists of the following subjects:

• Indian and Global Environment
• Data Analysis & Sufficiency
• Mathematical Skills
• Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
• Language Comprehension

There will be 200 questions in the exam that should be solved within 2 hours and 30 minutes.

MAT 2024 Syllabus: Indian and Global Environment

Key Topics

• Current GK-based on the reading of periodicals and newspapers
• Conventional GK- available in books
• Business, National, and International events
• Constitution of India
• Business & Economics GK- like changes in Monetary policies, CRR, Repo Rate
• Currency and Capitals of different countries
• Identification of brands, companies, personalities, etc
• Policies and social issues

MAT 2024 Syllabus: Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency

This section consists of tables, texts, graphs, Venn diagrams, and charts. This section is to test how candidates explain the given data and answer questions based on it.

• Venn Diagram
• Caselet Based Data

MAT 2024 Syllabus: Mathematical Skills

This section includes problems based on the number system, commercial maths, etc. to test the mathematical skills of the candidate.

MAT 2024 Syllabus: Intelligence and Critical Reasoning

This section has the most tricky questions. Intelligence and Critical Reasoning have been improvised.

MAT 2024 Syllabus: Language Comprehension

The Language Comprehension section is further divided into two major parts- Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability with Grammar.

PART 1: Syllabus for Reading Comprehension

Since the passages are option-based, there can be questions like:

• Passages from English Literature books: This consists of articles by great authors and philosophers like Charles Dickens, Aristotle, Martin Luther King, etc.
• Passages from Historical events: This consists of topics like Social changes in Indian History, French Revolution, etc.
• Business & Economics Passages:This includes topics like Global economic changes, the Impact of Demonetization in India, Government expenditures, etc.
• Passages from Science and Culture:This includes topics like the Modern world, Changing culture with the advancement of technology, etc.
• Passages from Mythology:This passage is related to the Mythological events with the current social structure
• Passages on Fiction and Abstract topics

PART 2: Syllabus for Verbal Ability

Key Topics

• Jumbled Paragraphs
• Fill in the blanks
• Error correction of Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adjective, and other parts of speech in sentences.
• One word substitution
• Idioms/ Phrases
• Antonyms and Synonyms
• Correcting the sequence of the sentences in paragraphs like correct use of reported speech, active & passive writing, time clauses, etc.
