Medical colleges in Mumbai Admission is governed by DMER (Directorate Medical Education & Research), Mumbai. The medical colleges in Mumbai offers admission to UG and PG level medical courses. There are huge number of private and government medical colleges offering the courses. Admission to the colleges is based on merit in NEET exams conducted by the examination authority of NTA, National Testing Agency. Fulfilling the eligibility criteria is mandatory before applying for any college. The criteria varies from one college to another. The students falling under the below mentioned norms are eligible to apply for the medical colleges in Mumbai or Maharashtra-

  • The applicants must have qualified their Higher secondary/ PUC/ Intermediate/ 10+2 or any other equivalent from a recognized board of state or center.
  • The subject of study should be Physics, Chemistry Biology/ Biotechnology along with compulsory English subject.
  • The general students should have 50% marks in aggregate while the students belonging to reserved category requires a minimum aggregate of 40%.
  • The students must be at least 17 years old before 31st Dec of the concerned academic session.
  • NRI students are eligible for institutional quota only.

Maharashtra MBBS Admission:

Admissions to MBBS in colleges of Maharashtra are made under the guidelines of MUHS, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. The seats in the Govt. and private medical colleges are allotted on the basis of rank/ score in NEE (National Eligibility Entrance Test) conducted every year by the National Testing Agency, NTA.

Medical college in Mumbai fees for the various quotas vary accordingly. Students are also offered seats under the management quota for which the academic fees are higher than those of general/ state candidate.

NEET-UG is a national level entrance exam through which students can get a seat in MBBS program across the renowned institutions like JIPMER, AIIMS etc. The candidates will have to make their choices for medical colleges during the counseling process as per their rank in NEET. The qualified students can take part in 15% AIQ (All India Quota) as well as 85% state quota.

Maharashtra MBBS Reservation 2020:

As the state is divided in three major regions namely- Marathwada, Vidarbha and the rest of Maharashtra. Candidates belonging to these regions are enrolled under 70% regional quota seats under the 85% state quota seats.
