MGM Medical College Aurangabad was established in January 1990 under the leadership of Shri. Kamalkishorji Kadam chairman MGM Trust, MGM Medical College & Hospital, Abad.
The college is a part of MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGMIHS) Deemed to be University, Kamothe Navi Mumbai. MGMIHS has been conferred the title ‘Deemed to be University’.
Mahatma Gandhi trust which was established in 1982 at Nanded has its institutions at Nanded, Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai and Parbhani in Maharashtra State and at Noida in Uttar Pradesh (Delhi NCR). It is a charitable trust registered under the Society’s Registration Act and Bombay Public Trusts Act.

MGM Medical College, Aurangabad: What started as a dream in a small village of Leembgaon, has today, taken the shape of reality, fulfilling the dreams of lakhs of students across the country.
Established in 1989 in Nanded, it is a tribute to the philosophy of the Father of the Nation and the values advocated by him.
The college comprises 150 UG seats and 89 PG seats. It is affiliated university to MGM Institute of Health Sciences. The medical institution conducts its own all-India Entrance Examination to select students for the UG / PG courses.

For MBBS in the beginning 100 seats were allotted but by 2011 the number has been increased to 150. In 2001 there were 4 subjects in post graduate level which were MD Medicine, MS Surgery, MS OBGY and MS Ophthalmology. Later on remaining specialities and department were added which got approved by the Medical Council of India.
Also the PG intake has been increased from 72 to 89. The superspeciality courses were established in 2010 in various subjects like MCh plastic surgery, MCh Urology, MCh CVTS, etc.

MGM Medical College Aurangabad Hostel is provided to students on the first-come-first-serve basis. The spacious and comfortable rooms have all the basic amenities like bed, chair, table, and wardrobe. There are 4 hostels among which 3 are for girls and one is for the boys. For the comfortable staying of the students the institute have provided two study halls, a sick room which is equipped with bed blanket, furniture and a medical first aid box. The visitor’s room for guests has comfortable seating, lighting and toilet facilities. It also has a spacious dining area with a well maintained and hygienic kitchen. For washing purpose they have a laundry room.
