MGM Medical College Review

Founded in 2006, MGM medical college is a private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Navi Mumbai (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Maharashtra. Officially accredited and/ or recognized by the University Grants Commission, India, MGM Medical College is a coeducational higher education institution. It offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.

MGM is a charitable trust, registered under the Bombay Public trust Act and Society’s Registration Act MGM Medical college is totally committed to human resource development through many institutes spread over 5 different cities. MGM Medical College Review is one of the most interesting parts of the institution as it has a lot to say about itself, the college has always extended a helping hand towards public welfare by guiding and sending their students to various locations of NSS camps.

The MGMIHS Incubation & Innovative Centre and the Institution’s Innovation Council encourage research and start-ups. Research is connected with experience, critical, creative and independent thinking faculty who link academics and patient care with the evidence-based outcome.

MGMIHS has in place policies to promote research, the infrastructure for research is commendable, financial assistance for research is provided, publications on research is propagated, workshops and conferences conducted to build an environment for research, writing scientific papers and filing IPR. The Research Board is headed by the Vice-Chancellor. The policies are reviewed regularly by the Research Board to update as per the UGC norms to make amendments.

MGMIHS has a broad goal to prepare undergraduate Medical and Paramedical students to function as community and first level physicians and paramedical workers in accordance with the institutional and national goals.

To fulfill the goal of this esteemed institute, the undergraduate students have been oriented& develop the aptitude for social service & Community outreach activity during curricular & co-curricular sessions. The students are involved during their academic tenure in the following activities:

  • Family visit, interaction with family members with help of Social work techniques.
  • Social service Camp, diagnostic camps in community, MJPJAY camps, Blood Donation Camps.
  • Village Survey & Social Mapping.
  • Health education on Common ailments in community with the help of Roleplay, IEC, songs & video.
  • Social networking with stakeholders like Sarpanch/ Municipality, Community Members, and Health teams in Public Health sectors for better implementation of National programs.
  • Community-based research project as a co- curricular activity like ICMR STS project, small projects funded by University research cell.

The volunteers also involved in the following activities:

The estimated fee of the course ranges from college to college, but on average, it ranges from 30,000 per annum to 20 Lakhs per annum.
The only exam considered for MBBS is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)
It is very difficult to define one course as best when it comes to post-graduation, but this college would be an excellent choice for PG.
The Hostel for boys and girls is distinguished into 2 buildings, with the facility of mess canteen, medical, water and 24/ 7 electricity.

AIIMS is top ranked medical colleges in India.
No college in India pays students while studying MBBS, but students can earn money by doing internships.
