The NID campus in Bangalore offers all of the necessary facilities to provide students with a pleasant learning environment. The Knowledge Management Centre (KMC) of the National Institute of Design has print, digital, and audio-visual resources. It has the world's most extensive collection of books, journals, and other non-book resources.
In addition, the center houses a large collection of student graduation projects, craft documentation reports, and other research initiatives. The design prototypes were also on exhibit at the KMC.
The Students Activity Committee (SAC) is a sociocultural organization within the Institute that fosters a healthy academic environment, student-friendly services such as sports, social, and special interest activities, as well as help and guidance on any area of study. The expenses of the Committee are paid for through a fund generated by student contributions throughout the year. The institute also contributes to this and other funds on a regular basis for particular activities or initiatives.
The Student Activity Council is in charge of numerous committees that deal with the canteen, athletics, and entertainment, as well as clubs that plan social and cultural events on campus. The SAC is a non-political and non-administrative body that is governed by NID rules and regulations in all of its activities. It has no legal status other than that of a facilitating body for advising students.
The NID, Bengaluru campus is not a residential one. Students are free to make their own accommodation arrangements, preferably close to campus.
