Navodaya Dental College Admission is through merit and management category. The government merit seats are filled in by common entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore and management seats are filled through entrance examination conducted by KRLMPCA, Bangalore. The students who studied their PUC from outside of Karnataka state are required to obtain eligibility certificate from the University for Approval of admissions. All the rules of admission are followed as per the university guidelines of RGUHS, Bangalore for admission to BDS as well as MDS courses. The NRI / SAARC nationals who meet the eligibility criteria are admitted directly under NRI quota

Students are selected for admission at UG level by two channels:

• The students who have studied Pre University / Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects appear for the entrance examinations.
• Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority for government seats
• Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Private Colleges Entrance Test (KRLMPCET) conducted by Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Private Colleges Association (KRLMPCA) for management seats.

Students are selected for admission at PG level by two channels:

• The students should have passed Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from colleges recognized by Dental council of India.
• Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority for government seats.
• Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Private Colleges Entrance Tests (KRLMPCET) conducted by Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Private Colleges Association (KRLMPCA) for management seats.
• The students should have secured minimum of 50% aggregate marks in all BDS university examinations and should have registered with state dental councils.

The College is earning the trust of the students outside the state and the country and is becoming a favorable destination for their higher education studies. The institute publishes its advertisements in international leading newspapers to attract foreign students aspiring Navodaya Dental College Courses. The college participates in the international education fairs, school presentations to attract foreign students. The college also has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Educational Consultants of India Limited (Ed.CIL), Ministry of Human Resources Development to admit foreign students in the college. The Royal Government of Bhutan admits the meritorious students from their country for BDS courses under scholarship schemes to the college every year.

The competitive examinations ensure admission to academically competent students in the college. 81% of students are from outside Karnataka state. The total college has 62% of female students testifying that the campus is a safe place for girl students. The college has provided admission to 18 foreign nationals / NRI seeking dental education and all their special requirements are taken care of. There is an agreement with Dept of Adult & Higher Education (DAHE), Royal Govt. of Bhutan for admitting their meritorious students in dental courses in our institution. Students from 10 different countries are pursuing their dental education and admitted by MEA through Ed.CiL India ltd.
