Osmania University is a public state university in the Telangana capital city of Hyderabad. The university was founded by Nawab Osman Ali Khan, the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad in 1918. It is India's seventh-oldest university and the third-oldest in South India. Osmania University is a state university with an A+ rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University is affiliated with nearly 500 colleges (both public and private) that offer a variety of technical and non-technical courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
