There are nine new buildings on campus, including the Central Instrumentation Center, the School of Computational Sciences, the School of Social Sciences, the School of Earth Sciences, the Girls' Hostel, the Boys' Hostel, the Rector's bungalow, the University Guest House, and the VIP Bungalow. The university is tirelessly working to raise the bar for research, teaching, extracurricular activities, and sports. The University has added new schools like the School of Commerce and Management, School of Languages and Literature, School of Performing Arts and Fine Arts, School of Allied Health Sciences, School of Technology, School of Life Sciences, and many new skill-based courses. At the same time, some of the existing courses have been modified to strike the right balance between the theoretical and applied components of the curriculum.
Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University is a young state University which was established on 1st August 2004. Formerly it was the postgraduate center of Shivaji University which had three postgraduate science departments and a central Library building on its campus and used to deliver 7 postgraduate courses. The current location of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University is on the outskirts of Solapur, about 10 km from the main city, on the national highway NH-09 heading towards Pune. Seminars, conferences, sporting activities, and research events at the state, inter-university, and international levels have all been frequently organized by the university.

For BBA/ BSc/ BCA admission, a merit list will be prepared drawn from HSC and percentage at the entrance examination. Students will be admitted based on the Merit list. Candidates who are interested in enrolling in these postgraduate (PG) programs should hold a relevant Bachelor's degree. Candidates are chosen based on their performance in the SU-CET (Savitribai Phule Pune University Common Entrance Test).
Based on the results of the qualifying examination, candidates are selected for Ph.D. and MPhil course.
