The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner, often known as RAJUVAS Bikaner was founded in 2010 under Section 1 Subsection (3) of the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Act, 2010. On May 18, 2010, the University was established in Bikaner. The university was established for the purpose of developing Veterinary and Animal Sciences in the state of Rajasthan in particular and the country overall through providing proper and systematic instruction, training, research, and extension in the most up-to-date system of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and its allied sciences.
The University continues to persevere with technical and scientific support for developing state animal husbandry from sustainability to profitability. With the assistance of scientific and technological innovations and a favorable policy environment, improved output along with productivity increase has led the State to be one of the country's leaders in milk, meat, and wool production.
The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral degrees in Veterinary and Animal Science through its number of constituent colleges namely the College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner (CVAS Bikaner), College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Navania, Vallabhnagar, Udaipur (CVAS Udaipur) and Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (PGIVER).
