RV Dental College Courses are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and approved by the Dental Council of India. They are designed keeping in mind the occurrence, prevention, and treatment of contemporary dental and oral diseases with a special emphasis on rural community health care. Every year courses are evaluated and modified.

The full-time courses offered by the college provide clinical experiences and didactic knowledge in various dental science subjects in BDS, MDS, Certification & diploma courses and doctoral programmes. Dentistry is increasingly in demand nowadays and to become a hygienist, oral surgeon, etc one needs to complete an undergraduate degree in dentistry and/ or a doctoral degree to set a platform on which to strengthen the knowledge and skills required for a career in this field.

RV Dental College offers 1 undergraduate, 9 postgraduate, 3 postgraduate diploma 8 doctoral and 2 certificate programs, a complete dental package.

Undergraduate programme intake is 60 students.

The courses are developed to provide students a foundation in dental science and they are also vocational, i.e. the undergraduate programme will train and prepare students for a position as dentists towards the end of their course. After the completion of this course, students are qualified to be a dentist and they are entitled to use the term ‘Doctor’ before his or her name as the prefix ‘Dr’. The course requires 5-years to complete including one –year rotatory training. After completing BDS students can pursue MDS, i.e. master degree in which students can specialize in special areas of dental science like oral surgery, oral pathology & microbiology, periodontics, etc.

As BDS is one of the most important courses in India, so is also MDS because this course gives the dentist the ability to practise a more comprehensive type of dentistry. Overall dental science subject is rigorous and academically demanding and students must demonstrate a wide range of capabilities- both theoretic and practical. To get into this college students must have high grades in prerequisite science courses and qualify the entrance test.
