S.J.C.College Admission
The SJC Institute of Technology admission is based on the 10+2 level marks scored by the students and the entrance exam. This college is a 35 years-old institute with 3000+ students and 300+ staff. The institute has its own separate admission office to assist the students in choosing the right academic track. The admission procedure will be processed in two steps; the eligibility criteria and the selection process.
The purpose of the selection process is to evaluate a candidate's communication skills, awareness about current affairs, attitude, understanding of the present market, etc. Eligibility criteria vary with the program type whereas the selection procedure remains the same.
Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Admission.
- Students who have passed in 10+2/ Pre-University examination with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with one of the subjects Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology with an aggregate of 45% marks.
- For the lateral entry to 2nd year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E), one should have passed diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution, with at least 45% marks in the in appropriate branch of Engineering/ Technology. (40% in case of SC/ ST candidate as per Government rule).
- For admission under government quota, students should compulsorily appear in CET/ COMEDK/ JEE or any other entrance test for professional program.
Eligibility Criteria for Master of Business Administration (MBA) Admission:
- For admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program, the candidates must have passed the bachelor’s degree examinations with an aggregate of 50% of the marks. PGCET score is a must for Government Quota Students.
- In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall be not less than 45%.
Eligibility Criteria for Master of Technology (M-Tech) Admission.
- For admission to the Master of Technology (M-Tech) Program, the candidates must have passed the bachelor’s degree (B-Tech/ B.E) examinations with an aggregate of 50% of the marks.
- In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall be not less than 45%.
Eligibility Criteria for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD-Research) Admission.
- The candidate should have passed in a Master Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 60% or equivalent grade at examinations. However, relaxation to an extent of 10% shall be allowed to SC/ ST or any other category as notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.
- In addition to the above, the candidate shall be qualified in the University Level Research Aptitude test, the result of which is valid for a period of two years.
Admission Process:
- The admission process in SJCIT is quite similar to other private colleges in Karnataka. The admission of the student to any stream of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) depends on the marks scored in the 10+2 level and also the Under-Graduate Common Entrance Test (UG-CET) and COMED-K.
- The admission of the student to any stream of Master of Technology (M-Tech) depends on the marks scored in the bachelor’s degree and also the Post-Graduate Common Entrance Test (PG-CET).
- The admission of the student to any stream of Master of Business Administration (MBA) depends on the marks scored in the bachelor’s degree and also the entrance exams like PGCET, CAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, ATMA.
