After conducting the SMAT exam , the institute ranks applicants depending on their performance. The total score obtained, the scores for each part, and the general effectiveness of candidates in comparison to other candidates are all considered when determining the ranking. In the selection process for admission, a candidate's rank is quite important. The institution also decides on a cut-off score, which is the minimum mark necessary for a candidate to be taken into consideration for admission. The cut-off marks for the different categories are different.
