Law Admissions

The admissions for law programs are based on the procedures adopted by individual law colleges/universities. Even so, the law institutes are supposed to set the admission criteria as per the guidelines laid down by the Bar Council of India. The admission to various private & government law colleges in Delhi, Bangalore or India are made on the basis of standard eligibility criteria and Entrance Exams conducted by them. In case of admission to National Law Universities, the standards are set by the consortium of NLUs across the country. Law Eligibility Criteria

  • LLM Admissions: The eligibility norms for LLM course may vary from one college to another in very minute percentage. The applicant must have completed his or her graduation degree in legislative law and must have acquired a legal degree either through 3 years traditional LLB course or with any of the integrated LLB courses. The candidates must have secured at least 50 – 55% of the total marks (The cut off percentage may vary across the colleges offering LLM Courses in Bangalore).
  • LLB Admissions: Candidates willing to pursue 3 years traditional LLB Course in Bangalore should have completed their 10 + 2 level education from any recognized University or Board. The candidates must have pursued a Bachelor’s Degree (3 years) in any of the specializations of Science, Commerce, Arts or Technology.
  • B.Sc LLB: The candidate must have passed 10 + 2/ 12th Standard/ 2 PUC or any other equivalent examination from a recognized college / university / board. The student must have secured at least 40% of the total marks in the above mentioned qualifying examination. (The percentage of eligibility may slightly vary from one college to the other and also there may be special relaxation based on several parameters).
  • BA LLB: Candidate must have finished their 10+2 from a recognized board of education in India. A minimum of 45% marks is required in the qualifying examination. The SC/ ST candidates are required with an aggregate of 40 % in 10+2 from recognized board in India. Then students should fill the respective college’s admission form.
  • BBA LLB: The appearing candidates who have cleared their Higher Secondary/ Pre-University/ 10+2 Examinations or equivalent from any recognized Board or Council in any of the disciplines are considered eligible for the program of BBA LLB. The 12th passed students are eligible irrespective of their stream provided they have secured a minimum of 45% in their exams. The SC/ ST candidates are eligible with a minimum of 40% in their 10+2 exams.
  • B.Com LLB: Candidate must pass their 10+2 standard from recognized Indian board. Some colleges give preference to the commerce students. Some colleges has 50% cut off marks. Most colleges have age limit of 22 years. Some colleges consider National-level exams for admission.

Law Fee Structure

The fee structure for the study of law programs differ region wise and also from one college to another. In this regard, the admission council of the individual colleges designs the fees structure under the guidance of their governing council and the management as per the framework of the Bar Council of India (BCI).
