TS POLYCET 2023 Pattern

The exam pattern is designed to give an idea to the exam-taking candidates on how the question paper will be prepared. It will provide all the necessary details that the candidates have to know about the exam paper so as to plan their preparation according to it. It contains details about the sections, the number of questions asked, the subjects included etc. The Common Entrances Test for admission into Polytechnics comprises a total of 120 questions on the question paper.

  • The examination will contain questions covered from the syllabus of X Class (S.S.C.) Test in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana State.
  • The candidates must mark the answers in the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided to them. Before starting to answer make sure that you carefully read the instructions provided in the OMR to avoid making mistakes.
  • The type of question asked will be multiple choice type questions in Four (04) different sections with four choices for each question from which the candidates have to mark the right responses in the OMR sheet.
  • The duration for the POLYCET examination will be of 2hrs 30 minutes i.e., the timing is from 11:00 AM to 01:30 PM.
  • The total marks of the examination are 150 marks. In it the Mathematics section carries 60 marks, the Physics section 30 Marks, the Chemistry section 30 Marks and the Biology section 30 Marks.
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers hences it is advised to leave all questions unattended.
  • The question paper will be printed both in English and Telugu languages.
  • The candidates who wish to take admission to the Diploma courses in Agricultural & Veterinary offered by PJTSAU & PVNRTVU & SKLTSHU should attempt Biology Questions in the POLYCET examination.
  • A separate rank list will be provided for MPC(Maths, Physics, Chemistry) and MBiPC (Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry). The total for MPC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) is 120 marks in the POLYCET exam but for MBiPC (Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry) will cut down Mathematics marks to 30, making the total marks 120.

The time for the examination is from 11:00 AM to 01:30 PM.
No, there is no negative marking for incorrect/unattended answers.
The question paper is divided into four sections.
