The UPSC IFS syllabus is designed to assess the candidates' knowledge and understanding of various subjects related to forest management, environmental science, and general studies. The UPSC IFS (Indian Forest Service) syllabus covers a wide range of concepts of different aspects such as forestry, environment, wildlife, and related subjects. The syllabus is divided into two parts preliminary(objective type) and mains(written and interview).
The syllabus for UPSC IFS 2024 is briefly given below:
For the preliminary exam:
Paper I: Current Events of India and World, History of India, Indian & World Geography, Economic & Social Development, Indian Polity & Governance, General Issues of Environment and General Science
Paper II: Comprehension, Logical Reasoning & Analytical Ability, Interpersonal Skills, Decision Making & Problem Solving, General Mental Ability, and Basic Numeracy.
For the main exam:
General English: Essay Writing, other questions to evaluate the basic understanding of English and Workmanlike Use of Words.
General Knowledge: Current Events, Indian Polity, and History of India & Geography.
Optional Subjects: Questions from the optional subjects selected by the candidates.
