XAT Exam highlights:

  • It is consists of Multiple Choice Questions.
  • All the MCQ have five options with one correct option.
  • Exam duration is of 3 hours.
  • The exam has 5 sections.
  • There is no sectional time limit.
  • Each question carries 4 marks.
  • In total, there will be 105 questions.
  • For incorrect answers, 1/4 mark will be reduced.
  • For percentage calculation GK section is not counted.
  • There is no negative marking for GK.
  • 1 marks for correct answer.

Analytical Essay Writing Short essay within 250. Topics can be abstract ideas and contemporary thoughts

Up until XAT 2018, there was an essay writing element on the exam syllabus; after that, it was removed. However, XLRI Jamshedpur reintroduced the essay writing section of the exam in XAT 2022. In the XAT syllabus, the essay writing section is the only descriptive question. Candidates can expect an increase of 10 minutes in the total exam time with the addition of this section. In XAT 2022, candidates had to select from two given topics, whereas, in XAT 2023, they had the choice of one essay topic from three options.
