The Government of Gujarat established Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) by Gujarat Act No. 8 of 1995. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted CHARUSAT the authority to award degrees by Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956. The former campus was called Education Campus Changa until 2009. In 2016, CHARUSAT received an A grade from NAAC. Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) was founded by Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Patidar Kelavani Mandal to make India a global hub for higher education and establish the Land of Sardar Patel.
The non-profit premier trust in India, CHARUSATA, is home to numerous institutes. Kelavani Mandal was established in 1994 to provide social services via education. The group has a more than 125-year social history. The primary group, Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Leuva Patidar Samaj- Matrusanstha, is well known for starting mass marriages in the Patidar community on a massive scale, which ignited a social revolution. An application was made to the University Grants Commission (UGC) to be designated as a "Deemed to be University." Similar appeals to the Gujarati government were made regarding the establishment of a State Private University. The government of Gujarat started to receive the request.
The main objective of Kelavani Mandal is the construction of state-of-the-art educational facilities. Renowned for its honesty and integrity, Trust is an organization that operates under democratic principles. The Kelavani Mandal is the sponsor of CHARUSAT. Kelavani Mandal's development path was illuminated by two former presidents: the Late Dr. K C Patel and the Late Shri Chhotabhai Bhikhabhai Patel. Businessman and social activist Shri Chhotabhai Bhikhabhai Patel was from Mumbai.

Charotar University of Science and Technology Admission is available for the B. Tech. and M. Tech. programs at the Charotar University of Science and Technology. The GUJCET entrance exam is required of applicants for the CHARUSAT admission into B.Tech programs as part of the selection procedure. A valid GATE exam result is also required for admission to the CHARUSAT M.Tech program. The results of the entrance exams taken by applicants determine how applicants are admitted to CHARUSAT Anand.
