The Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) was established by an act of the legislature (No. 25 of 2004) passed by the Chhattisgarh State Govt. Assembly, vide notification no. 639/21-A/Praroopan/04 dt 21st January 2005, to incorporate a University and Technology to ensure systematic, efficient, and quality education in engineering and technological subjects including Architecture and Pharmacy at the Research, Postgraduate, Degree.
Since its foundation in 2005, the university has worked hard to establish itself as one of the nation's leading universities to fulfill its commitment to state and national service. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, inaugurated it on April 30, 2005.
The permanent campus of the university spans 250 acres in the Bhilai township area, which is recognized as one of the most significant educational hubs in India. The University building and its associated infrastructure are under construction, and the land acquisition requirements have been fulfilled. The completion of the University Administrative Building has occurred. Forty-four engineering schools, one architecture school, forty polytechnics, and eleven pharmacy institutions are among the university's affiliates.
The university's digitalized assessment system, which has been in place for a few years, has considerably expanded the amount of time available for instruction and student interaction by providing results far in advance of the scheduled time.
