Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology admissions provide students with a clear pathway to pursue higher education in engineering, management, and research. The process is conducted as per the rules of the Government of Karnataka and Visvesvaraya Technological University, ensuring transparency and fairness. Undergraduate entry is based on performance in entrance exams conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority, while postgraduate opportunities are offered through PGCET, GATE, KMAT, or MAT. UG eligibility:

  • Second year PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by the University (with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following subjects, namely, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology and Electronics)
  • They should score a minimum of 45% marks
  • For SC/ST the minimum marks is 40%
  • Candidates need to appear in entrance test

PG eligibility:

  • Student should have a bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Information Science & Engineering/ Instrumentation/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent degree

MBA eligibility:

  • Candidates who have completed bachelors or any equivalent from any discipline are eligible.
  • They should score a minimum of 50% marks
  • For SC/ST the minimum marks is 45%

Selection Criteria

  • Students will be selected for on the basis of the rank obtained in the entrance exam.
  • Final cut off for the current year combined with the scores of the student will finalise their selection.
  • Students will be called for the selection process for the counselling process

Documents Required for Admission:

  • 10th (SSLC/SSC) and 12th (PUC/10+2) marks cards.
  • Bachelor’s degree marks cards (all semesters) and degree/provisional certificate (for PG).
  • Entrance exam scorecard (KCET/COMEDK/PGCET/GATE/KMAT/MAT as applicable).
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) from the previous institution.
  • Migration Certificate (for non-Karnataka students)
  • Caste and Income Certificate (for reserved category candidates, along with Hindhuthwa Pramana Patra for Karnataka students).
  • Proof of identity and permanent residence (Aadhar/Passport/Voter ID/Ration Card).
  • Recent passport-size photographs.
  • Eligibility Certificate from VTU (for out-of-state/PG applicants).
  • For foreign students, a valid passport, visa, and political/GOI clearance are required.

Admissions are based on performance in entrance exams conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) or through the management quota.
Candidates can apply through entrance exams like PGCET, GATE, KMAT, or MAT, or directly under the management quota.
