Gautam Buddha University was established in 2002 by the Uttar Pradesh Act (9). The university launched its first academic session at its 511 acres of campus in Greater Noida in August 2008. Under UGC Act the university is recognized by the University Grants Commission and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. The university is also recognized under UGC Section 12B and NAAC accreditation with a ‘B+’ Grade.
An integrated BA LLB program administered by The School of Law, Justice & Governance has been approved by the Bar Council of India. Two-year BEd programs are recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). M.Phil (Clinical Psychology) program is recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India. B.Arch and M.Arch programs in Architect and Planning are recognized by the Council of Architecture, India. The university has ISO 9001:2008 certification.
