The University places a high priority on helping students find suitable employment when they have completed their studies. The placement department of the University oversees the training and placement activities. The cell assesses student performance levels and makes sure they are adequately corporate-ready.
ICFAI University, Meghalaya’s Career Guidance & Training and Development Department Highlights
- Highlighting articles on Competitive and Industrial Career Opportunities on departmental bulletin boards.
- Inform students about job opportunities in the government sector and off-campus drives.
- Organizing Motivational Talks.
- Conducting Psychometric Test.
- Inviting guest lecturer.
- Arranging workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Conducting training skills like- communication, personality development, resume Preparation & Email Writing.
- Organizing group discussions, and mock interviews.
Internship Program
For UG programs, the internship program starts either in the summer or during the last semester, and for MBA programs, it starts after the 2nd Semester. Students who participate in the internship program will be given practical application skills that apply to a variety of circumstances. It is an attempt to bridge the gap between corporate and educational institutions.
ICFAI University, Meghalaya’s Placement Policy
- The Training and Placement Cell serves as a facilitator and counselor for all placement-related activities. A job can't be guaranteed by the Training and Placement cell.
- All students registered with the Training & Placement Cell have access to the placement service through ONE JOB TO ONE STUDENT.
- Students must attend aptitude and other training (Resume Writing/Email Writing/GD/PI/Training) or they will be prohibited from participating in any Training & Placement Activity.
- College uniform is required for students to participate in the Campus Recruitment Programme; otherwise, students would be excluded from the opportunity for campus interviews.
- Students must maintain their Identity Card with them during PPT/Test/Group Discussion/Interviews and show it when requested by the visiting team or its representatives.
- Students should arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the allocated time for pre-placement discussions (PPT) and take a seat. A student who fails to report on time will be disqualified from the recruitment process. Students should be on time, since once the HR People/Company representative reaches the premises, all doors will be closed and students will be denied entry.
- Any student who has received an offer letter must notify the Placement office as soon as possible and give a photocopy of the same.
- Students must verify their information on a regular basis and change it as needed. Because this data will be shared with the industries. If a student fails to fill out or update the information, he or she may miss out on participating in campus recruitment drives.
- Students should maintain a professional/formal engaging environment during the Placements/Recruitment drive. Any behavior that brings discredit to the Institute will not be permitted, and such students will face severe consequences. Students must adhere to professional decorum. If found guilty, such students will be prohibited from participating in future placement activities.
- A student who opts for the written test during the Campus Recruitment Programme must also appear for the GD/PI, failing which he/she will be prohibited from the Campus Recruitment Programme for all following companies.
- Students who aren't planning to engage in any recruitment procedure must notify the T&P office in advance so that other students may be given the opportunity.
