ICFAI University won the Leading Private University in India for Business Management, Technology, and Law Courses category at the Brands Academy's Pan India Educational Excellence Award in New Delhi. Indian chess grandmaster and former world champion Mr. Vishwanathan Anand presented the esteemed award at a sumptuous ceremony on May 31, 2014, in Mumbai. Mr. Sudhakar Rao, Director of Branding for the ICFAI Group, and Dr. S. P. Gupta, one of the Vice Chancellors for the ICFAI Group, accepted the prize on behalf of the Institute. When accepting the honor, Mr. Sudhakar Rao thanked the Brands Academy and rejoiced that ICFAI, one of India's largest consortia of universities, is genuinely deserving of this award.

The Educational Excellence Awards were created in 2010 by Brands Academy in collaboration with prominent media partners to recognize those who have contributed their skills and themselves to the worthwhile cause of educating others in the community. They honor meritorious individuals, organizations, or institutions around the nation based on a variety of criteria and across a wide range of categories, and we recognize their commitment to the expansion of the education industry. Brands Academy carried out a market research study to choose the winner in March 2014. ICFAI Universities has established 11 universities around India, including Tripura, Dehradun, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Jharkhand, Jaipur, and Himachal Pradesh (Baddi).

The House of Commons in London, United Kingdom, on June 24, 2014, honored The ICFAI Group as a Great Place to Study in India. ICFAI Group, represented by Sudhakar Rao, received the award from Bob Blackman, a UK member of parliament. The branding director. These awards were created by the SkillTree Knowledge Consortium, which stated in its communication that “Your institute is a fantastic place for students from around the world as well as from India”. • Programs for 3 Years of LLB, 5 Years of BALLB(H), and 5 Years of BBA-LLB(H) Law have been approved for affiliation by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
• By Section 2(f) of the UGC Act of 1956, the University of Tripura has received UGC approval, recognition, and listing.
• According to the Distance Education Council's letter no. F.DEC/ICFAI-Tripura/08/7460 dated March 10, 2008, the ICFAI University, Tripura has acquired provisional recognition for providing its programs online.
• Tripura's ICFAI University received NAAC accreditation in 2018. The certification is valid till 2023.
• The M.Ed, B.Ed, B.Ed (ODL), B.P.Ed, and D.P.Ed programs have received approval from the National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) for the offering. ICFAI University in Tripura has received approval from NCTE.
• ICFAI University, Tripura, has been authorized by ISRO as a "Nodal Center for ISRO START program."
• The ICFAI University in Tripura is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
