The B.Tech in Biotechnology at PESIT (PES University) is a four-year UG degree course covering Bioprocess Engineering, Cell and Molecular Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and Medical and Environmental Biotechnology to address the sustainable issues which mankind has never dealt with before. It is for the risk-taking enthusiasts who would like to venture into solving issues that are faced by mankind, be it in energy, environment, health, food or water and finally, sustainability.

Civil Engineering:

B.Tech in Civil Engineering in PESIT (PES University) started in 2012 with an objective to create a world class civil engineering department with state-of-the-art facilities to excel in academics and research activities. It aims to create professionally superior and ethically strong students. To achieve this, the curriculum is developed in line with the current trends in civil engineering industry and research.

Computer Science & Engineering:

B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at PES University is designed to create globally competent manpower for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry. At the same time, it is also designed to prepare the students for post- graduate education in the best universities across the globe. These courses are revised frequently and include current topics such as Web 2.0, data analytics, cloud computing, mobile systems engineering, Web technologies and so on. In addition to the regular curriculum, the students get an opportunity to work as teaching and research assistants under the faculty members who are constantly involved in sponsored research and consulting projects. Courses offered by Department of Computer Science in PESIT is one of the most demanded among students.

Electronics & Communication Engineering:

This Btech Electronics and Communication Engineering at PES University is geared towards developing graduates who have the ability to work in multidisciplinary environments with a strong research orientation, and recognize the importance of lifelong learning in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The laboratory courses are designed to provide an in-depth practical learning experience to the students. Electrical and Electronics:

Mechanical Engineering:

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering in PESIT (PES University) started in 1988. It has an aggressive academic rigor in the autonomous programme with a high-quality curriculum. It also offers Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering under VTU. The department has highly qualified experts from both the academia and the industry with vast research and engineering experience. In addition, it offers the best environment for Master’s and Ph. D students to pursue research in the field of their interest in Automotive and Aerospace engineering and research.

Master of Computer Applications:

The Department of MCA in BMSIT was started in the academic year 2003-04 with an approved intake of 60 students. It has a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. Computer laboratories are equipped with high-end computers, servers and installed with necessary licensed software. The department has state-of-the-art facilities. Students of the department bagged the 2nd and the 5th ranks in the VTU examinations for the year 2012. This is the third successive year of achieving university ranks.

M.E/ M. Tech in Manufacturing Science:

This is a 4-semester course with a major focus on advances and practical aspects of manufacturing engineering.

The courses are designed such that the students get an opportunity to be ready for industrial jobs as well as to pursue higher studies at institutes of higher learning abroad. The seminars and the project which are part of the course are monitored and guided by highly experienced internationally renowned Professors, enabling the students to master his/her area of interest in manufacturing engineering. The focus areas of research are Surface Engineering, Metal matrix composites, Polymer composites, Friction stir welding, Nano-composites and Tribology.

M.E/ M. Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems:

M. Tech in VLSI and Embedded Systems in PES University is a 2-year (4-semesters) master’s programme for students interested in the current and expanding field of VLSI circuit design, to equip students with detailed knowledge of latest technologies and the skills required to apply this knowledge in the design of VLSI systems. This programme is also to prepare students for leading positions in industries in the areas of VLSI and Embedded Systems.

M.E/ M. Tech in Digital Electronics & Communications Systems:

The M. Tech course in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems at PES University aims at providing in-depth knowledge to students of Electronics and Telecommunication background in various subjects like Advanced Digital Communication, Modern DSP, Advanced Embedded System, Antenna Theory and Design, Digital Electronics, etc. The main course on Advanced Digital Communication enriches the student with concepts of digital modulation, channel coding, equalization techniques, spread spectrum communication and communication through fading channel. This course gives an overall idea of basic modulation techniques and gives an introduction to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing and an insight into the channel coding techniques specifically taking convolution coding.

M.E. / M.Tech in Bioinformatics:

M.Tech in Bioinformatics at PES University Bangalore is a unique programme that bridges the gap between Life Sciences and Computer Science or Information Science. The post graduate has opportunities to enter either the software domain or bioinformatics and computational biology domain. The student is taken through a journey in either Biology subjects or Computer Science subjects initially, to some of the advanced or challenging problems that biology poses. It is a rigorous, two-year programme. The requirement for entering the M. Tech programme is a four-year degree course in Biological Sciences or Engineering.

M.E/ M.Tech in Web Technology:

Not only the ways in which software solutions and services are developed and delivered to global users, but also the very Science and Engineering behind them are undergoing rapid changes. There is also a growing demand for highly qualified engineers with an in-depth knowledge and expertise in web technologies in large as well as small and medium corporations.

M.E/ M. Tech in Microelectronics & Control Systems:

M.Tech in Micro Electronics and Control system at PES University provides a detailed understanding of the theory and applications of linear and non-linear control systems, covering topics related to optimal, intelligent and automatic control systems. It also includes the study of neural networks and computational techniques to obtain mathematical models of industrial drives and control systems. It also covers subjects related to microelectronic systems where students acquire deeper knowledge of electronics systems related to advanced integrated circuit systems, computer tools for design of systems and computer architecture. Students develop skill sets required for applications in microelectronic engineering to develop faster, smaller devices which consume less power.
