Eligibility Criteria

  • Those candidates who have qualified their Higher Secondary/ PUC/ Intermediate/ 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Maths & English) conducted by central/ state board or any other equivalent, are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Pharmacy program at the medical colleges.
  • The candidates prevailing from a reserved category like SC/ ST or OBC are required with a minimum of 45% marks in their board exams.
  • The candidates with a degree in D. Pharma (Diplomacy in Pharmacy) can take lateral entry into the B. Pharma with a minimum of 45% marks in their qualifying exams.
  • The age limit for the general students is 20 years whereas for the reserved category the age limit should not exceed by 22 years.

Entrance Exams

The students are allotted seats into the colleges based upon the centralized counseling for pharmacy. The admission process for B. Pharma is quite transparent and the students can enroll for the program through the concerned entrance test.

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is the state-level entrance exam for the admission of the course B Pharm, conducted by The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Selection procedure

The selection of candidates is made on merit basis in their qualifying exams or through their rank/ score in the competitive entrance exams. Few colleges also provide admission to the students directly under the management quota.

Students must complete their 10+2 education and qualify for a national or state-level Pharmacy entrance exam to be accepted into the program.
The GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST (GPAT) is a nationwide entrance exam for M.Pharm degree programs.
Candidates must take the KCET Entrance exam to be admitted to the B. Pharm program in Karnataka. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the counseling process based on their entrance ranking.
