Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Admission

Each year thousands of applicants from all over India apply for the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Admissions to pursue their career in various engineering disciplines provided by the college. The students looking for admissions in the engineering programs are supposed to take concerned entrance exams as subjected to the approval of college from time to time.

Presently, the entrance exam for the admissions in RGIT is conducted by COMEDK for the candidates from different parts of country. The students of Karnataka are required to take entrance test conducted by the KEA (CET Cell). The process of counseling and selection for the college is done after a merit list prepared by the concerned authorities. The selected students can pay the fee as notified by the college.Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Note: If any candidate fails to report the college or pay the prescribed fee within the specified date will be treated as a cancelled one. The next candidate in the merit list will be called for admission in the said vacancy.

The students can also apply directly to the college for the admission in the management and NRI quota. They can get the application form free of cost available at the college website. The admission of the candidates under this quota is considered based on their aggregate marks obtained in the last qualifying exams.

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Eligibility

(Bachelor of Engineering Degree)

Those candidates looking for admissions in the BE programs must have qualified 10+2 higher secondary/ PUC/ Intermediate or any equivalent qualifying exams with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in subjects of physics, mathematics, chemistry with optional subjects like Biology or Biotechnology or computer science.

In case of the students prevailing from SC/ ST and OBC background, a minimum aggregate of 40% is required for meeting the eligibility in their qualifying examinations.

(Master of Technology Degree)

The graduates looking for admission in the master’s program should have qualified their BE or B-Tech from any recognized state or central university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent GPA/CGPA.

The appearing candidates should have gone through at least one or two internship projects/ programs during their engineering curriculum in graduation.

(Doctorate Degree in Engineering)

The PHD programs offered to candidates in four disciplines depends on the intake policy of Viswesvaraya Technological University. The intake for the doctoral programs and its notification are released from the university time to time.

The appearing candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before the registration and application process for the various engineering programs.The candidates are also admitted to various courses through lateral entry for the admission in the third semester (i.e., 2nd year) of BE program provided by RGIT. The candidates once admitted will not be allowed to take transfer to other college after the final date of admissions.

The selection procedure for the candidates is very transparent at this college. Students are selected on the merit basis for the UG and PG programs. The students can expect a very good returnfrom the engineering programs at RGIT.

For the undergraduate programme, a candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
