Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies was established under the aegis of M S Ramaiah Foundation. It is chaired by Dr M R Pattabiram, an eminent visionary and educationalist of Bangalore. The college is affialiated to Karnataka State Law University(Government University) and Approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies aims at producing competent legal professionals by rendering world class legal studies and supportive attire to them.

Legal practices have changed over time. Along with conventional forms of law, now there are corporate laws, business treaties & contracts. Globalization along with changing social equations has made career in law much more lucarative than ever before.

Keeping with the pace of law diversity in India, RILS Bangalore has been offering 5 years integrated undergraduate law courses since the time of its inception.

Undergraduate Courses (Full Time) (5 Years):

  • BA LLB: Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Legislative Law
  • BBA LLB: Bachelor of Business Administration + Bachelor of Legislative Law
  • B.Com LLB: Bachelor of Commerce + Bachelor of Legislative Law

Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies Admission

RILS Bangalore Admission procedure has been structured keeping the mind the rules classified by the Bar Council of India. Students who are interested in undergraduate courses in RILS should meet minimum elibility criteria of having passed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST / other reserved category candidates) from any recognized Board or council in India.

The selection process in Ramaiah Law College consists of RILS-SAT (A Scholarship Cum Aptitude Test) followed by Group Discussion & Personal Interview. As a profession, the law demands some attributes like strong command over Language, sharpness of thought, ability to take a quick decision using available resources etc. Thereby, the selection panel also looks for some lawyer-traits in the prospect student.

Special Scholarship schemes are available for meritorious student with upto 30% waiver on academic fees annually. Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies also offers Education Loan facility through anu nationalised bank. The College is also an approved partner institute for Indian Overseas Bank and Bank of Baroda (Earlier Vijaya Bank) for education loan purpose. The admission office provides guidance to the selected students to avail supportive educational loans, if needed.
