Being affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and recognized by Govt. of Karnataka, SVIT has attracted a huge multitude of students towards the innovative engineering programs. The governing council of SVIT was established 12 years back in 2008 which is composed of 13 members and responsible for formulating policies to facilitate Sai Vidya Institute of Technology Ranking status.

• Dr. Vrinda Shetty, HOD of ISE Dept., has received the award for Emerging Leader in Engineering during the HELM (Higher Education Leadership Meet).
• Dr. Vrinda Shetty was also rewarded with "Senior Woman Educator & Scholar Award" powered by NFED Coimbatore.
• Karthik P, Pramath and Nishanth from ISE department have received a fund of INR 55k from KSCST for the project "Eye Movement Based Controlling of Wheelchair".
• Mr. Shashank J, Mr.Vinay Kumar R.T and Ms Aishwarya G of 6th semester has won Smart India Hackathon 2019 grand finale. It's a non-stop product development competition, where problem statements are posed to technology students for innovative solutions.
• Dr. Vrinda Shetty, Professor and HOD, Dept. of ISE received ―EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION AWARD‖ on Feb 23rd 2019, by VENUS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION at Green Park Chennai, India.
• Best Paper Award at the NCACE-EWIT- 2018 Mr. Nithin Kumar T. K. (1VA15CV032) and Mr. Bhavani Prasad (1VA16CV402) of 7th SEM receiving the Best Paper Award at the NCACE-EWIT- 2018 a National Conference in Advances in Civil Engineering held at East West Institute of Technology on 28th and 29th September 2018.
