Founded by freedom fighter and social entrepreneur Sankalchand Patel, the Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal (NSVKM) was established in 1952 with a mission to provide a values-based and diverse education to North Gujarati youth. The university, created under the Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2016, officially began operations on May 9, 2016.
