Subbaiah Medical College Shimoga is a unit of the Tadikela Subbaiah Trust in Karnataka. The Trust was set up in the year 2003 by Sri. T. Subbaramaiah who was an agriculturist. It is an educational trust that trust that came into effect under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. Sri. T. Subbaramaniah was the founding trustee and the Chairman of the Board. The Trust is also aided by the member-trustees, Dr. S. Srinivas, Dr. S. Nagendra, M.D., M.D., , Dr.VinayaKumari, MBBS., DCP., Dr.Lata R Telang, MBBS., DGO. all of whom are teaching and practicing doctors and are part of the venerated Subbaiah family.
