It is stipulated that the applicant must have cleared the qualifying examination as under:

  • The candidate needs to have cleared his/her higher secondary examination which falls under list of Indian school Certificate Examinations. This is an equivalent to the 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination secured within a duration of 12 years of study.
  • The final two years of study must include subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics or any alternative elective subjects having English as a core medium of teaching. That too as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training upon introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as stipulated by the National Committee on education.

  • any other qualifications as approved and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
  • The Candidate is required to have cleared the qualifying examination which is 10+2 or 2nd PUC higher secondary or its equivalent test.
  • The final two years of study needs to include Chemistry, Physics and Biology (PCB) with English as a mandatory subject. It is imperative that the candidate should have cleared these subjects individually and must have secured a minimum of 50% marks taken totally in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
  • Additionally, It is also mandatory for candidates to secure at least 50% marks in PCM or Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the respective competitive entrance test.
  • As far as applicants from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes or for that matter Other Backward Classes are concerned, the marks obtained in Chemistry, Physics and Biology taken together for the qualifying examination and competitive entrance test would be 40% as opposed to 50% as stated above.
