A general Criteria for Vemana Institute of Technology Admissions:

Admissions to the first year Bachelor of Engineering course at Vemana ITechnology is made available to candidates via COMED-K/CET and the institute’s Management Quota as per the norms given by Government of Karnataka and the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) that changes from from time to time.

For direct admissions into the First Year:

Admission to the first year shall be open for the candidates who: Have successfully cleared their second year Pre-University Examination by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board. They also need to have taken up Science Subjects. ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) / 10 + 2 CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) or from any other recognised board by the University.

Eligibility criteria for admissions:

The applicants need have scored an aggregate of 45% with mathematics and physics as a part of their subjects, along with any of the following subjects:

• Chemistry
• Biology & Electronics
• Computer Science
• Biotechnology

There is relaxation for the eligibility criteria for candidates from the SC/ST and OBC categories. They are eligible upon securing 40% in the optional subjects. The candidate must have taken up English as one of the subjects.

Lateral entry admissions to Second Year:

Applicants with a diploma or an equivalent degree can apply for admissions in the second year given that their score falls above 50% in their final year examinations. For candidates from the SC/ST and OBC category, the criteria offers relaxation and applicants need to secure only 45%. In such a case the applicant has secured less than that required for eligibility, he/she is required to clear the bridge courses as instructed by the Bangalore University.
