Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) is a deemed university approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the 'de Novo category. The Chinmaya Mission, an international organization founded by Swami Chinmayananda, established the university in Ernakulam, Kerala, India, in 2016. It is situated at the Chinmaya International Foundation in Ernakulam and has become a torchbearer for the preservation of India's cultural heritage and knowledge traditions through higher education.
The university's mission is to educate a new generation of scholars and researchers who will contribute to the progress and dissemination of knowledge while preserving a global outlook rooted in India's rich cultural legacy. The Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) has two campuses: the Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula campus in Ernakulam, Kerala, and the Chinmaya Naada Bindu Gurukula campus in Kolwan, Maharashtra, near Pune.
- The Academic Insights magazine named Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) the 'University of the Year-2020 for Traditional Excellence' for its unique blend of programs with a foundation in Indian Knowledge Systems. CVV was featured in the magazine's December 2020 issue.
- Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth is happy to announce that Dr. M.S.Valiathan, a world-renowned heart surgeon, has received the inaugural Chinmaya Pratibha Puraskara. On January 16, 2019, the award was presented during the University Day celebrations at the Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula campus.
- Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth has struck an agreement with Seva Bharathi for its Consultancy Project. CVV will provide technical assistance for two years to create 14 Counselling Punarjani Centres throughout Kerala's ten districts.
- Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 1, 2019, with the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR), a Kochi-based public policy think tank, to launch an MA in Public Policy and Governance in the 2019 academic year.
- Vidushi Manjusha Patil (Professor, School of Kalayoga) of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth's Chinmaya Naada Bindu Gurukula has been awarded the Gaan-Saraswati Puraskar for the year 2020. Dr. Arun Dravid established the Puraskar in 2017 in remembrance of his Guru, Padma Vibhushan Gaan-Saraswati Kishori Amonkar.

- Dr. Ramesh Pattni, Adjunct Assistant Professor at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) Deemed to be University, has been appointed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to interfaith relations and the Hindu community in the United Kingdom.
CVV is an ambition that arose from the time-tested basis of a hundred Chinmaya Vidyalayas (the renowned chain of elementary and secondary schools and institutions) spread across the country.
