Dayananda Sagar College of engineering course admissions is based on the merit of entrance exams. Students can also get admission through management quota. All the applicants who want to bag a seat in the institution have to follow certain rules and regulations as laid by the college. The admission for the year 2020 is open now. Karnataka Students are required to pass CET, COMEDK and JEE (common engineering entrance exam) to get admission here. Appearing in any of the entrance exams DSCE B.Tech course admission is based on the KCET/COMEDK exam scores. DSCE M.Tech admission is based on candidate's PGCET/GATE scores. The DSCE admission process commences in the month of March every year and concludes on 31st July of the same year.

The in-campus Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering Hostel has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with two hostels for the boys and 6 hostel buildings for the girls. The students have to abide by certain guidelines to have a smoother stay in the hostel. Violation of any rules will result in expulsion from the hostel. The college has high security and good discipline. Non-resident students of Bangalore are required to stay in the hostel. Food is provided four times a day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tea. Spacious rooms with attached bathroom are available for all the hostel rooms.
