Maratha Mandal Dental College offers programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, research and course level. The college conducts as many as seven courses at postgraduate level with specialization in different branches of study. All the courses are approved and recognized by the Dental Council of India. The curriculum as been defined as per the rules and regulations laid by the DCI. 75% attendance separately in theory and clinical classes are must for a student to appear for the examinations. English is by default the medium of instructions for all courses.

Maratha Mandal Dental College Courses are Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) and proficiency course in Basic Implant.

BDS is a 5-year full-time duration course with a minimum of 240 days of teaching in one academic year. The students must undergo a 1-year internship program after their 4th year. An aspiring dental practitioner needs to study all the branches of dental surgery along with general human anatomy and physiology during the 4 years of BDS. Students must complete internships at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences, Belagavi.

MDS is a 3- year full-time postgraduate level course. A student has an option to pursue MDS with a specialty in seven different branches. The course is directed as per the guidelines issued by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

Maratha Mandal’s Nathajirao G. Halgekar Institute of Dental Sciences is one of the research centre approved by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore to conduct research at the PhD level. Renowned professors‘Dr.Kishore G.Bhat and ‘Dr. Ramakant Nayak is recognized as a guide for the research work currently underway at the institute.

The college conducts a six-month proficiency course in Basic Implant. It gives a hands-on experience to the students into dental implantology. Students pursuing a dental course at the Maratha Mandal Dental College are eligible to apply for this course.
