MBBS Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS):

  • Native Indians, NRI and Foreign Candidates, OCIs and PIOs are eligible to appear for National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) for Undergraduate Programs.
  • The candidate must be not less than 17 years of age to be eligible for admission to Bachelor’s program at MVJ Medical College. The upper age limit for the aspirants belonging to general category is and for SC / ST / OBC and Candidates is 30 years.
  • The applicant should have accomplished his / her 10 + 2 or 2nd PUC or 12th Standard education from any college affiliated to any board or University recognized by the Government of India.
  • The candidate applying for UG courses must have studied English as a compulsory language and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects of study in 2nd PUC / 12th Standard / any other equivalent examination.
  • The aspirant is expected to have secured at least 50% marks in the aforesaid qualifying examination. However, there is a relaxation of 5% for physically disabled candidates and 10% for SC / ST /OBC candidates.
  • The candidates must have pursued their 10 + 2 level education from regular schools with Biology as one of the main subject. The aspirants who have pursued their 10 + 2 education from open schools and universities and those who have studied Biology as an optional subject are not eligible for NEET.

PG Courses Eligibility Criteria

M. D / M. S and PG Diploma :

The candidates seeking admission to MVJ Medical College Courses offered as post graduate programs i.e. MD / MS / PG Diploma should satisfy the following eligibility norms.

  • The aspirant must have cleared Final Year Examination of MBBS degree program from any Medical College associated with any University recognized by the Medical Council of India.
  • The candidates must have completed a compulsory one year rotator internship program from any teaching institution or any other institution affiliated to the Medical Council of India.
  • The candidates must have compulsorily acquired permanent registration from the Medical Council of Karnataka before joining the course.
