The Navsari Agricultural University (NAU), a prominent educational and farmers' welfare institution in South Gujarat, was founded with the adoption of the Gujarat Agricultural University Act 2004 on May 1, 2004. Surat, Navsari, Bharuch, Valsad, Narmada, Tapi, and Dang are the seven districts in South Gujarat that are under NAU's jurisdiction. Seven colleges currently provide five bachelor's, twenty-seven master's, and twenty-one doctoral degree programs. Agriculture, horticulture, forestry, agribusiness management, agricultural engineering, and agricultural biotechnology are among the academic programs available at NAU.

The Navsari Agricultural University (NAU) DSW office is fully aware that a university's capacity to provide higher education programs will eventually depend on how well-liked its students are by companies. Additionally, while choosing a course, institute, or university, placements have always been a top priority for both students and their parents. They have already created a thriving and effective "University Placement & Counseling Cell" in light of this.

This university placement and counseling cell was founded with a specific goal in mind: to have an integrated linkage with the industry, corporations, and others. It works under the capable direction of the esteemed DSW, Dr. H. R. Pandya Sir. This unit actively advises students on potential career paths and works to increase students' employability in the highly competitive global environment. The cell is committed to the student's overall professional development through regular training and development interventions, industry-academia interaction, field/industrial visits, and other activities, in addition to helping students with project placement and final job placement and assisting in the publication of separate Placement Brochure of each institute annually.

Since the university's placement and counseling programs are very essential components they have already created a thriving and effective "University Placement & Counselling Cell" under the Director of Student Welfare office. Since June 22, 2012, Dr. Mehul G. Thakkar, an accomplished international HRD expert and associate professor of HRM at the constituent college, ASPEE Agribusiness Management Institute (AABMI), has been in charge of this cell as the "University Placement Coordinator/Head" to instill a professional attitude in its operation.

NAU attracts a range of companies from different sectors related to agriculture, agribusiness, food processing, horticulture, research organizations, and government departments. These organizations offer positions in various domains, including research, extension services, marketing, management, and more. The university's placement cell also organizes pre-placement training programs to enhance students' skills and make them more employable. These programs include workshops on resume writing, interview preparation, communication skills, and personality development. Apart from placements, NAU also encourages students to undertake internships during their academic years. Internships provide valuable industry exposure and can sometimes lead to full-time job offers upon graduation. The university's strong alumni network also plays a significant role in connecting students with potential employers and creating job opportunities.
