NAU Ranking

The Navsari Agricultural University (NAU), a prominent educational and farmers' welfare institution in South Gujarat, was founded with the adoption of the Gujarat Agricultural University Act 2004 on May 1, 2004. Surat, Navsari, Bharuch, Valsad, Narmada, Tapi, and Dang are the seven districts in South Gujarat that are under NAU's jurisdiction. Seven colleges currently provide five bachelor's, twenty-seven master's, and twenty-one doctoral degree programs. Among the faculties offered at NAU are those in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, agribusiness management, agricultural engineering, and agricultural biotechnology.

The "National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board" of ICAR, New Delhi has granted accreditation to all eight of NAU, Navsari's constituent colleges through March 31, 2026. According to the "Ranking of Agricultural Universities" study done by ICAR, NAU, Navsari was ranked XXII (2016), IX (2017), XIV (2018), XLII (2019), and XXXI (2020) during the previous five years. In addition, NAU in Navsari has received a 4-star rating from the Gujarati government under the GSIRF ranking for the last three years running. The "Establishment of Secondary Agriculture Unit for Skill Development at NAU, Navsari for PG Students and Farmers" CAAST component of the NAHEP project, which is funded by the World Bank and sponsored by the Government of India's ICAR, has been in operation since 2018.

  • The University Library of NAU has been honored by ICAR-CeRA with the Best CeRA Ambassador Award (2019) for the West Zone and the Best Usage of the "J-Gate@CeRA" award (2018). In addition, NAU offers one international hostel, thirteen girls' hostels, and 18 boys' hostels to house more than 2500 students. Additionally, the university offers its students facilities for indoor and outdoor sports, a contemporary gym, an auditorium, a bank, a post office, and a health center.
  • The NAU research stations were recognized as the Best Performing AICRP Centre for fruits in 2016, 2020, and 2021, small millets in 2017, tuber crops in 2018, 2020, and 2021, and IFS in 2018. Currently, NAU is home to 18 AICRPs, including 4 volunteer centers.
  • The Gujarati government's Krushi and Gram Vikas Vibhag and the University Grants Commission (UGC) both recognize Navsari Agricultural University.
  • Over the past five years, NAU has received the following rankings from the ICAR: 12th (2016), 9th (2017), 14th (2018), 42nd (2019), and 31st (2020).
  • The Accrued Gains Pvt. Ltd. of Botswana and Novel Holding Inc. of the United States have signed an international Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NAU, Navsari.
