Admissions to Raiganj University's undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses are granted based on the merit obtained in the qualifying examination. However, for the MBA program, the university takes into consideration the scores obtained in the entrance test. The University has three affiliated institutes that offer both general and honors degree courses at UG and PG levels.

The University offers two modes of courses: Aided and Self-financed. The self-financed programs at Raiganj University are conducted in the evening shifts. The merit list for self-financing courses is prepared separately, and eligible candidates need to apply separately for these programs. The eligibility criteria for both aided and self-financed programs are the same. However, there are specific reservations in place for admission to aided courses at Raiganj University.
