South Asian University Admissions 2024

South Asian University (SAU), established by the SAARC government, is on a 100-acre campus at Maidan Garhi. It offers Master's and PhD programs in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Economics, International Relations, Legal Studies, Mathematics, and Sociology. Recognized by all SAARC countries, SAU attracts students from across the region.

Programmes and Application Process

SAU's new Computer Science programs include B.Tech., Dual Degree (B.Tech.+M.Tech.), M.Tech., and Integrated (M.Sc.+M.Tech.). All programs are full-time and conducted offline. Registration is through Entrance Mode. For B.Tech./M.Tech., registration is through Direct Mode (JEE Mains/GATE Score). The Entrance Test will be on the 20th and 21st April 2024.

Eligibility and Admission Criteria

  • B.Tech. & Dual Degree (B.Tech.+M.Tech.)
  • Class 12 or equivalent in Science with Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry.
  • Minimum 65% marks in aggregate.

M.Tech. (CS)

  • 4-year B.Tech./B.E./BSc. (Engg.)/BS in Computer Science or relevant area with 55% marks.

Integrated M.Sc.+M.Tech. (CS)

  • 3 or 4-year Bachelor's in Computer Science or relevant area with mathematics.
  • Minimum 55% marks.

Master’s Programmes

  • 15 years of education (10+2+3) or a 4-year degree with 50% marks for M.A., 55% for M.Sc.
  • Only eligible with a 10+2+2 pattern if supplemented by one year of MA/MSc.
  • Ph.D. Programmes
  • Bachelor’s plus postgraduate degree with 50% marks (Social Sciences/Law), 55% (Science).

Admission Procedures

Admissions are conducted via Entrance Tests and Direct Mode (for PhD). Quotas include:

  • 50% for Indian students.
  • Reserved seats for SAARC countries (4% for Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka; 10% for Pakistan, and Bangladesh).
  • 10% for non-SAARC applicants.

General Requirements

  • Full-time enrolment with no outside employment.
  • Recognition of degrees from government-recognized institutions.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent in Science with Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry, with at least 65% marks in aggregate.
Candidate must have completed (10+2+3) or a 4-year degree, with 50% marks for M.A. and 55% for M.Sc. programs.
